It’s Day 2 of the World Cup as Group B begins play and Group A continues their matches.

Today will see three matches, with Germany taking on China in the first match early this morning.

The Germans are no strangers to success in the World Cup, and will likely want to make a statement in their opening match. Die Nationalelf is looking to reclaim glory with a healthy attacking Dzsenifer Marozsan, but Germany will have to try and get past China’s steel roses midfielder, Wang Shuang - look for the 24 year old PSG star to turn some heads this World Cup.

The second game features Spain facing off against South Africa. The midday match features La Roja lead by the offensive minded Jenni Hermoso going up against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana and their long time captain and center back Janine Van Wyk. South Africa enters this match, and group, as debutantes and underdogs - with Spain looking to improve on their recent National Team development.

The final match of the day will be a group A set, with Norway taking on Nigeria. Two historic World Cup teams as both of these teams have made an appearance in every World Cup to date. Norway’s Grasshoppers have will want to make a statement against Nigeria with so much of the narrative around Ada Hegerberg not playing for Norway. While Nigeria’s Super Falcons will showcase their youth with Asisat Oshoala who recently made her Champions League Finals debut with Barcelona.
