The quarterfinals are nearly complete. Four more teams round out the quarterfinal round as Italy, Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden all look to advance into the semifinals.

Here are a few things to look out for in today’s games.

First match of the day features Italy taking on Netherlands. Both these teams have impressed in this World Cup, with each of them having won their group. Italy heads into their match with high hopes, but it is the Netherlands who enter the match with the better record and as favorites. Italy’s defense has been reliable and steady, with Sara Gama anchoring the backline. They will face a challenge in the dynamic top line of the European champion Netherlands, especially Vivianne Miedema.

Second match of the day will have Germany facing off against Sweden. The experienced Germany is looking to build on their World Cup tournament, they enter the match as tournament favorites. Undefeated in their group, Germany won two group games by only 1 goal. Sweden will look to play Germany close and keep the scoreline the same. Germany’s best player Dzsenifer Marozsán has been nursing a broken toe but is set to make her return this match, could she be the difference maker?
