Matchday 7 features a set of two games today as Group B and C continue their group play.

The first match of the day will see Group C kickoff with Australia and Brazil in what is considered one of the better international rivalries. Both of these teams have met in previous tournaments and will now meet again in this World Cup group stage. Brazil is still waiting to see if Marta, who has been rehabbing a thigh injury, will be available to play and coaches have said she is a game time decision.

Australia is looking to bounce back from a round one loss against Italy. The Matilda’s loss 2-1 on a stoppage time (90+ 5’) goal from Italy’s Barbara Bonansea. Australia will need to get a win against Brazil in an effort to stay on pace to advance out of their group.

The second match of the day will feature Group B with South Africa and China playing each other. Both teams sit in the group without points, with both losing games to Germany and Spain. China is still looking for their first goal of the tournament, and if there is a winner in this match they are likely to advance out of the group.
