It’s been a long week, dear readers. There’s a lot of bad stuff happening in the world. It’s easy to give in to despair and hopelessness. In times like these, it’s important to find joy wherever you can.
With that in mind, let’s revisit all five (5) of the United States Women’s National Team’s goals against New Zealand last night, the second game in their World Cup Sendoff Series. If you’re tired or struggling today, take comfort and strength in these goals so that you can see out the week.
35’ 1-0 Tobin Heath

Heath’s finish was nice and clean, but for me the goal was alllll about Megan Rapinoe’s cross. My goodness.
40’ 2-0 Rose Lavelle
we're sure of it. these two have that magical connection and we're here for it.@LindseyHoran ➡️ @roselavelle pic.twitter.com/AJ2ZWmsUqF

If Rapinoe’s assist for Heath was pretty, Lindsay Horan’s cross to Rose Lavelle for the USA’s second goal was positively sublime. Lavelle going for the upper 90 was also pretty great.
61’ 3-0 Carli Lloyd
Subs in, scores seconds later. @CarliLloyd with her fourth goal in three consecutive games pic.twitter.com/6WtKFxnEZw

Gotta love it when a second half sub scores almost immediately after checking into the game.
83’ 4-0 Carli Lloyd (Again)
Make that goals for @CarliLloyd in her last three games. It's her world and we're living in it. pic.twitter.com/K0AbqI0Bnh

My goodness, Carli.

Ok that’s just disrespectful.
